How to Keep Your "Weight Loss" Resolution
“Losing weight” is the # 1 in New Year’s resolutions list for many people. But many with this lofty goal give up within couple of weeks.
So, how are you going to keep your weight loss resolution?
Follow below 5 simple tips to stop cycle of resolving and then not following through.
1. Set an attainable goal
Most of the people fall short of their goals because not realistic and unattainable. For example, resolving to NEVER eat your favorite food again OR loosing 30lb in one month are setting you up to fail. Instead, set a goal that is attainable, such as avoiding your favorite food more often than you do now OR loosing 4lb per month.
2. Outline the Plan
Decide how you will reach the goal. Burn more calories than you eat every day. Burning 500 calories per day for a week will lose about 1-2 pounds. Join a Fitness Club or go for 45 min Jog or walk.
3. Follow the Diet
For rapid weight loss minimize sugars and animal fat from meat and dairy foods and focus on fruits, veggies, egg whites, soy products, skinless poultry breasts, fish, shellfish and nonfat dairy foods.
• Eat vegetables to help you feel full.
• Reduce Sugars & Oils
• Drink plenty of water.
• Get tempting foods out of your home.
• Stay busy -- you don't want to eat just because you're bored.
• Don't skip meals.
4. Find a Buddy
Decide how you will reach the goal and strategy to keep the resolution up. Find a friend or family member to lose weight with. It will also make it a lot more Fun! Friends or family members are great for giving encouragement and advice along your journey towards weight loss. Friends with same goal with avoid temptation to skip that exercise class or have that piece of cake.
5.Track Your Progress
Keep track of each small success. Short-term goals, such as 2lb weight reduction per week, are easier to keep. Each small accomplishment will help keep you motivated.
